MOSCOW, January 2. /TASS/. Russian air defenses intercepted 11 HIMARS and Olkha rockets in the special operation zone in the past day, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"Air defenses intercepted 11 HIMARS and Olkha rockets in the past 24 hours. In addition, 34 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed near Pologi, Gulyaipole and Basan in the Zaporozhye Region, Lisichansk, Kremennaya and Svatovo in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Vodyanoye and Panteleimonovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the statement reads.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, units of Battlegroup Dnepr, backed by artillery forces, eliminated up to 20 Ukrainian troops, three motor vehicles and a D-30 howitzer in the Kherson area in the past day.

Russian tactical aircraft crews, missile and artillery forces and drone operators hit 112 Ukrainian artillery units in firing positions, as well as troops and equipment in 137 areas.

A total of 565 planes, 263 helicopters, 10,352 drones, 445 missile systems, 14,434 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,194 multiple rocket launchers, 7,611 field artillery systems and mortars, as well as 16,976 special military motor vehicles, have been destroyed since the start of Russia’s special military operation.
