Production of armored weapons in Russia triples this year, says Prime Minister

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. The production of armored vehicles in Russia has tripled this year, and the production of drones has doubled, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Tuesday.
"Over 11 months, the number of manufactured products has increased significantly compared to last year’s indicators. In communications equipment, weapons, electronic warfare and reconnaissance - there is an increase of more than fivefold. In armored weapons - [there is an increase by] three times, in aviation equipment, in unmanned aerial vehicles - [production has] doubled, and for cars - almost tripled," he said at a meeting of the coordination council to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces.
Mishustin added that the issues of providing the personnel of the Russian armed forces with field uniforms and military equipment have also been resolved, and the production volume of armor protection items has tripled.
According to the Prime Minister, the government allocates significant funding for the development of production capacities for defense orders and the supply of necessary products. "This has made it possible to involve over 360 enterprises, put into operation about 37,000 units of various equipment, and additionally attract about 520,000 employees," he said.
Mishustin noted that thanks to the measures taken, production of many items is going ahead of schedule. The Prime Minister instructed the coordination council not to slow down the pace.
"Our defenders must have everything they need to carry out important tasks for the country, including equipment and defensive infrastructure. Thousands of field works have already been built along the entire troop deployment line," Mishustin concluded.
