MELITOPOL, December 5. /TASS/. A new team of monitors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has taken over at the Zaporozhye NPP in Energodar, the power plant said on its Telegram channel.

"The next, 14th rotation of IAEA observers took place at the Zaporozhye NPP. There are four inspectors on the team. Their task, as before, is to keep an eye on and assess the condition of the plant's safety - both operational and physical," the report reads.

On December 2, the Rosatom corporation said its CEO Alexey Likhachev and IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi agreed to hold full-scale consultations on ZNPP safety in January-February 2024.

IAEA experts have been present at the NPP since September 2022, when a permanent monitoring mission was established following Grossi's first visit.

The Zaporozhye NPP, located in Energodar, consists of six power units with a total capacity of 6 GW. It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. The facility was taken under control by Russian forces at the end of February 2022.
