Russia completes re-subordination of fleets to Navy commander-in-chief
The implementation of the plan of action of the Navy main command this year helped increase combat capabilities of the fleets and the Caspian flotilla and raise the share of modern military and special hardware to 74%
MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. The work to re-subordinate Russian fleets from corresponding military districts directly to the Navy commander-in-chief is nearing completion, according to Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.
"The work to re-subordinate the fleets and the Caspian flotilla directly to the Navy commander-in-chief is nearing completion. It will promote efficient control of the fleets, introduce single approaches to engagement planning and preparation of Navy groupings in modern conditions," he told a meeting of the ministry board on Tuesday.
The implementation of the plan of action of the Navy main command this year helped increase combat capabilities of the fleets and the Caspian flotilla and raise the share of modern military and special hardware to 74%. The intensity of combat training of the fleets increased 1.2 times this year, he said.
