Impossible to drive Russia from global arms market, official says
Director of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev emphasized that Russia was at least the second largest exporter of weapons and military equipment in the world
DUBAI, November 13. /TASS/. No one can drive Russia out of the global arms market, Director of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev said.
"It is impossible to drive Russia out of any market, let alone the arms market. This is nothing but a misconception," he pointed out, talking to reporters at the Dubai Airshow 2023.
Shugayev emphasized that Russia was at least the second largest exporter of weapons and military equipment in the world. "This is why these are just vain attempts by our haters," the official stressed.
The Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation head noted that the arms market implied competition. "We should in no way rest on our laurels. Today, the industry operates quite effectively and we have things to offer," he said.
"Many types of equipment proved effective in real combat operations. This is indeed the mark of quality that is inherent in our aircraft engineering, including helicopters and fighter jets," Shugayev added.
Talking about Russia’s participation in the Dubai Airshow 2023, he highlighted "the need to take part in such events." "We will be trending in any case. Our industry aims to at least its position and, clearly, lay the groundwork for the future," the official concluded.
