Militants from the Jabhat al-Nusra terror group (outlawed in Russia) are preparing to carry out drone and rocket attacks on civilian facilities in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, Deputy Chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria, said.
"According to data available to the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties, Jabhat al-Nusra militants active near the city of Al Bab are preparing to use improvised unmanned aerial vehicles and multiple rocket launchers for attacks on civilian infrastructure facilities, the bases of Russian and Syrian troops, and airfields in the Aleppo Province," he specified.
Kulit added that the command of the Russian group of forces and the leadership of the Syrian Armed Forces would take necessary measures to prevent such attacks.
According to the center’s deputy chief, six shelling attacks on the positions of Syrian government forces were recorded in the Idlib de-escalation zone in the past day, as carried out by the Jabhat al-Nusra and the Islamic Party of Turkestan terrorist groups (both outlawed in Russia). One attack was reported in the Aleppo Province, two in the Idlib Province and three in the Latakia Province.
