Pentagon, NATO states behind massive cyberattacks from Ukraine against Russia — FSB
"Presently, the Ukrainian network infrastructure is used by cyberattack units of Western countries, enabling them to stealthily employ new types of cyberweapons," it stressed
MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/. The Pentagon and NATO countries are behind massive cyberattacks from Ukrainian territory against the Russian critical infrastructure, the press office of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Thursday.
The FSB has the resources to identify particular individuals, organizations and real masterminds complicit in the hacker attacks on the Russian infrastructure for bringing them to justice, the press office stressed.
"Since the beginning of 2022, over 5,000 hacker attacks on the Russian critical infrastructure have been recorded. The timely measures implemented have helped prevent the onset of negative consequences from such actions for our country," the press office said in a statement.
"The analysis of revealed computer threats has helped obtain data evidencing that the United States and NATO countries used Ukrainian territory for carrying out massive computer attacks on civilian infrastructure facilities in Russia," the press office said in a statement.
"Presently, the Ukrainian network infrastructure is used by cyberattack units of Western countries, enabling them to stealthily employ new types of cyberweapons," it stressed.
"For the purpose of concealing its complicity, Washington seeks to cast solely Ukraine as the ‘author’ of cyberattacks, namely, the IT Army of Ukraine hacker group that has carried out thousands of computer attacks on Russian information resources. Meanwhile, these cyberattacks are being devised with the direct participation of the Pentagon’s unified command in interaction with the international (Anonymous, Silence) and national (Ghost Clan from the US, RedHack from Turkey, GNG from Georgia and Squad 303 from Poland and others) hacker groups," the FSB said.
"The FSB of Russia has the resources to identify particular individuals, organizations, and also real masterminds complicit in the hacker attacks on the Russian infrastructure for bringing them to justice," the press office stressed.
