The Russian armed forces killed over 40 soldiers of the Ukrainian armed forces in the southern Donetsk area and in the area of Zaporozhye in a day, as well as destroyed a US-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Sunday.

In particular, air strikes and artillery fire from the Eastern group of troops hit enemy units in the areas of the settlements of Shevchenko in the Donetsk People's Republic, Levadne and Orekhov in the Zaporozhye region, he said.

In addition, two sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Ukrainian armed forces were destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Levadnoye in in the Donetsk People's Republic and Vishnevoe in the Zaporozhye region.

"Over the past 24 hours, over 40 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored vehicles, three pickup trucks, a D-30 howitzer and a D-20 howitzer have been destroyed in these areas," Konashenkov said. According to him, in the area of the settlement of Uspenovka in the Zaporozhye region, a US-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar was destroyed.
