MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. The consumption of ammunition has increased many times in the context of the special military operation and the task of the Russian industry is to meet the needs of the Russian army without fail, Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Russia’s Security Council, said on Wednesday.
"As the special military operation goes on, the consumption of ammunition has increased manifold. The industry’s task is to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces fully and without fail," Medvedev said at a meeting during a visit to the Kazan Gunpowder Plant.
"It is necessary not just to increase the output of these products, but also, of course, to seek to improve the efficiency of ammunition and to use both advanced knowhow and new ideas," he said.
"In general, a transformation of the [defense-industrial] industry is underway. Whole new complexes are introduced and production is expanded," Medvedev said.
According to a video uploaded to Medvedev's Telegram channel, during his working trip to Tatarstan he examined the line of products on offer from the Kazan Gunpowder Plant and met with the governors of regions constituting the Volga Federal District to discuss, among other things, the enlistment of contract soldiers.
