Russian forces kill over 60 Ukrainian troops along Kupyansk frontline - Defense Ministry
Three Russian units destroyed two Ukrainian armored combat vehicles, four cars, a Gvozdika howitzer and a D-20 howitzer
MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. Russian forces killed over 60 Ukrainian troops along the Kupyansk frontline in the past day, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said on Friday.
"Army aircraft and artillery units of the Western group of forces hit the enemy’s troops and equipment near the Dvurechnaya, Krakhmalnaya and Tabayevka settlements in the Kharkov Region. Over 60 Ukrainian troops were killed there in the past day," he noted.
According to Konashenkov, three Russian units destroyed two Ukrainian armored combat vehicles, four cars, a Gvozdika howitzer and a D-20 howitzer.
South Donetsk direction
The Vostok group of forces wiped out more than 80 Ukrainian servicemen, a US-made M777 howitzer and a Polish-made AHS Krab in the southern Donetsk direction, Konashenkov told.
"In the South Donetsk direction, the operational and tactical aviation and artillery of the Vostok group of force inflicted a comprehensive fire attack on the Ukrainian units in the areas of Vodyanoye, Ugledar and Prechistovka settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic. More than 80 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed over the day in this direction," he said.
According to Konashenkov, Russian units also destroyed one tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, three pickup trucks, four Uragan MLRS combat vehicles, one D-20 howitzer, a US-made M777 artillery system, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled tracked gun-howitzer, as well as a US-made AN/TPQ-36 mobile radar system. "In addition, four Ukrainian ammunition depots were destroyed in the areas of Razdolnoye, Bogatyr of the Donetsk People's Republic and Malinovka of the Zaporozhye Region," the spokesman added.
