Arms production grows for swift supplies to troops — Putin

The head of state noted the speed of increasing the production of the entire line of weapons

MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/. Troops will receive cutting-edge equipment with the industry swiftly increasing production of the entire range of armaments, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a video address published on the Kremlin website on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day.

"We will continue to supply our troops with the most advanced equipment," Putin said, explaining that this involves new strike systems, reconnaissance and communication means, drones and artillery systems.

The Russian leader added that a special emphasis would be made on boosting the country’s nuclear potential. He noted that the country’s defensive ability would be bolstered based on acquired combat experience.

According to Putin, Russia’s top-notch Sarmat silo-based missile systems armed with heavy liquid-propellant orbital intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear charges will go on combat alert in 2023. The mass deliveries of shipborne Tsirkon hypersonic missiles will also begin in 2023.
