MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has apprehended a member of the Ukrainian Azov Neo-Nazi regiment (outlawed in Russia) who arrived in Russia under the guise of a refugee, the FSB press office told TASS on Wednesday.

"The Federal Security Service has foiled the unlawful activity in Rostov-on-Don of a Ukrainian citizen and a member of Ukraine’s Azov Neo-Nazi regiment terrorist group outlawed in Russia," the press office said.

The Ukrainian agent arrived in Russia under the guise of a refugee and made an attempt to legalize himself, it said.

"Even though the Azov was recognized as a terrorist group, the detainee who supported ultra-right Neo-Nazi views advocated the terror group’s interests among the youth in Rostov-on-Don," the FSB press office said.

The security measures carried out by the FSB revealed that while being in Ukraine in 2016, the detainee joined a structural unit of the Azov regiment and within its structure participated in the so-called march of nations held by Ukrainian Neo-Nazis in Kiev. The FSB found the corresponding propaganda materials and the Azov paraphernalia at the place of the detainee’s residence, the press office said.

Investigators have opened a criminal case under part 2, article 205.5 of Russia’s Criminal Code ("Participation in Terror Activity"). The detainee has been remanded into custody, the FSB press office said.
