MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) this year will hold a set of joint exercises Combat Brotherhood, the chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov told a news conference on Tuesday.
"In 2023, a series of joint CSTO Combat Brotherhood exercises is being conducted. It is the highest form of joint training within the organization. All elements of the collective security system will be involved in different parts of the CSTO’s area of responsibility," he said.
Sidorov stressed that the practice of military exercises aimed at improving combat skills and coherence and at maintaining the readiness of the CSTO collective forces to perform tasks to ensure collective security would continue.
"At the same time, the joint training of command-and-control bodies and field forces and means of the collective security system will be focused on peacekeeping aspects," he said.
The chief of the CSTO Joint Staff said that as part of the joint training a set of events has been planned, including a joint business game under the guidance of the CSTO secretary-general, joint and special exercises that combine the training of various components of the CSTO forces on the territory of Belarus, and joint exercises with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force Interaction-2023 with the practicing of tasks for the use of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system in order to resolve crises in the Eastern European region of the CSTO’s collective security, special exercises with forces and means of reconnaissance Search-2023, special exercises with the forces and means of material-technical support for the CSTO Echelon-2023, special exercises with the joint force of radiation, chemical and biological protection and medical support Barrier-2023, and joint exercises with the CSTO peacekeeping forces Indestructible Brotherhood-2023 on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
