Defense contractor delivers new top-notch military transport plane to Russian troops

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. The Ulyanovsk-based Aviastar enterprise, a branch of the Ilyushin Aircraft Company, delivered an Il-76MD-90A heavy military transport plane to Russia’s Defense Ministry, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) announced on Monday.
"Aviastar, a branch of the Ilyushin Aircraft Company, has manufactured and delivered the latest Il-76MD-90A heavy military transport plane built for the Defense Ministry of Russia," the UAC press office said in a statement.
"The delivery of new transport planes is our contribution to meeting the requirements for military transport aircraft and strengthening the country’s defense capability. Today, the latest Il-76MD-90A is on the assembly line. The enterprise is laying the production groundwork for the next year. Several aircraft slated for their delivery in 2023 are in various degrees of their readiness in the workshops," the press office quoted UAC CEO Yury Slyusar as saying.
To fulfill the objective of increasing production, Aviastar plans to continue recruiting additional manpower and conduct training for professions in the greatest demand. By now, it has hired over 1,000 personnel, of whom 80% are apprentices in industrial specialties. In 2023, the enterprise is set to boost its workforce by more than 1,100 production workers, the press office said.
