MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. Robotizing military hardware is a key trend today and robotic multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) can be created in Russia, CEO of the state tech corporation Rostec Sergey Chemezov told TASS in an interview on the occasion of the corporation’s 15th anniversary on Wednesday.

"Our enterprises have engineered a robotized BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle with a Sinitsa combat module that can be remotely controlled or can operate in a standalone mode. Other types of hardware can be robotized, including multiple launch rocket systems. Why not? Robotizing military hardware is a key trend of the past few years and that is why the most promising areas include unmanned systems capable of partially substituting humans on the battlefield and operating in network centric warfare," the Rostec chief explained.

The BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle with the Sinitsa combat module jointly developed by Kurganmashzavod (KMZ) and the all-Russian Research Institute Signal (both are part of the High Precision Systems Holding Company) was demonstrated at the Army 2022 international arms show in Russia.

The combat vehicle can be operated both by a crew and remotely with the help of a portable control panel or remote controls. The infantry fighting vehicle is designed to provide fire support for motorized infantry troops in the most vulnerable areas, for example, in a dense urban environment. The robotic vehicle can move on its own along a designated route without human control and with or without satellite navigation data.
