GENICHESK, November 15./TASS/. Many civilians in Novaya Kakhovka, a city in the Kherson Region, have been killed or injured as a result of shelling by Ukrainian troops, the chief of the city district, Vladimir Leontyev, told journalists on Tuesday.

"The shelling continues practically round-the-clock. The situation has changed for the worse, since the shells are flying directly into the city. People are killed, a lot of people have been wounded, and it is hard for me to say how many of them have been shell-shocked," Leontyev said.

Many among them are women, children and the elderly, he specified.
