Ka-52M helicopter equipped with structural monitoring system — developer
All helicopter status details are gathered and stored on an onboard electronic storage disk
MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. The upgraded Ka-52M helicopter has become the first to be fitted with a structural status monitoring system on board, Nikolay Lvov, chief executive of the IRT company - the developer, told TASS in an interview.
"We have made a system for the blades on the Mi-24 helicopter flying laboratory. We then produced the systems of an advanced generation of composite wing structures for the prospective military airplane. To date, we have already completed state trials for the system being a component of the Ka-52The information currently being received from Ka-52M helicopters includes details of serviceability of key structural elements of the airship and the helicopter’s status in general, including its remaining service life and the life of individual elements, the chief executive noted.
All helicopter status details are gathered and stored on an onboard electronic storage disk. A technician downloads the information after the airship lands and stores it in a special laptop with the appropriate software installed. The results are displayed in the form of a detailed menu, where an air technician may select any helicopter, view its status in general and the status of individual units. The status of monitored structures and units is highlighted in the menu by different colors, from green (normal) to yellow (an extra structure inspection is needed) and red (emergency).
