Russian television extends coverage to all of Kherson Region — Defense Ministry

Transmission of Russian television channels started to resume in Kherson and some of the surrounding region about two months ago

KHERSON, June 21. /TASS/. Russian military communications engineers have rewired the last of the Kherson Region’s seven television towers to transmit Russian television channels, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"Connecting the seventh tower has extended the broadcasting network across the entire region and made it possible to transmit 24 Russian television channels across its entire territory," the ministry said. "Thanks to the work performed by Russian military engineers, about 1 million residents of the region will now be able to watch completely free Channel One, Rossiya, NTV, REN-TV, Channel Five, OTR, TVC, STS, Zvezda, Mir and other Russian channels."

Transmission of Russian television channels started to resume in Kherson and some of the surrounding region about two months ago.

The Kherson Region is located in the south of Ukraine and borders Crimea. In the middle of March, the Russian Defense Ministry said the region was under full control of Russian troops. A regional civilian-military administration was formed in April. The regional government has announced the intention to join Russia.
