Mercenaries from 64 countries fight in Ukraine, 2,000 of them killed — Russian military
Since the start of the special military operation, 6,956 such personnel have arrived in Ukraine, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov noted
MOSCOW, June 17. /TASS/. Mercenaries and military specialists from 64 countries are involved in hostilities in Ukraine, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Friday. About 2,000 foreign mercenaries are known to have been killed, he added.
"In all, as of June 17, 2022, we have on our lists mercenaries and weapons operation specialists from 64 countries. Since the start of the special military operation, 6,956 such personnel have arrived in Ukraine, 1,956 of them have already been killed, and 1,779 have left. For the time being 3,221 mercenaries are still alive - they have not yet been captured or have not reached the Ukrainian border," he said.
Konashenkov added that detailed data regarding foreign mercenaries in Ukraine were available from the Russian Defense Ministry’ online resources.
