Kremlin mum on how Moscow may react if Kiev uses US-supplied MLRS

MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has preferred to refrain from speculations in what way Moscow might react, if Kiev used US-supplied multiple rocket launch systems (MLRS) against targets inside Russia.
"Let us avoid discussing the worst scenarios," Peskov said in reply to a corresponding question from journalists.
Earlier, a senior US administration official, speaking at a special telephone briefing for journalists, said that the United States would announce on Wednesday the transfer of the 11th military assistance package to Ukraine, including MLRS, such as the HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems). He said that the range of missiles for the HIMARS light multiple launch rocket system, mounted on a wheeled chassis, to be transferred to Kiev, did not exceed 80 kilometers. He stated that Ukraine had vowed the US-provided MLRS would not be used against targets located on Russian territory.
