MOSCOW, May 21. /TASS/. Five humanitarian actions were held in Ukraine’s Zaporozhye and Kharkov Regions as well as in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on Saturday in order to deliver 290 tonnes of humanitarian aid to civilians, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said.
"On May 21, 2022, five humanitarian actions were held in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Kharkov and Zaporozhye Regions, during which 290 tonnes of daily essentials and foodstuffs were distributed among the population," said Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters in Ukraine.
The general added that federal executive bodies along with Russian regions, a wide range of public organizations and patriotic movements have accumulated more than 24,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid at collection points.
Mizintsev added that the public organization ‘Union of Women of Russia’ had collected more than 1,000 tonnes of food and medicines to send to Russian soldiers.
