Russian forces destroy over 140 aircraft, 110 helicopters in Ukraine operation - top brass

MOSCOW, April 30. /TASS/. Russian forces have eliminated over 140 combat aircraft, 110 helicopters and 650 unmanned aerial vehicles since the start of their special military operation in Ukraine, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday.

The Russian troops also destroyed 279 Ukrainian surface-to-air missile systems, 2,656 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 307 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,189 field artillery guns and mortars and 2,492 special military motor vehicles, the spokesman said. "Overall, the following targets have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation: 142 aircraft, 112 helicopters and 658 unmanned aerial vehicles," the general said.

Russian air-launched precision missiles struck five Ukrainian military sites overnight, including four ammunition and fuel depots, Konashenkov said. "Air-launched precision missiles delivered strikes on five Ukrainian military targets overnight, including four ammunition and fuel depots near the settlements of Berezovoye, Vozdvizhenka, Pokrovskoye and Barvenkovo and also an area of nationalists’ amassed manpower and military hardware," the spokesman said.

Russian missile troops struck four Ukrainian military sites overnight, including two command centers, a battery of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and a radar, Konashenkov said. "The missile troops eliminated four Ukrainian military targets overnight: two command centers of the Ukrainian army, a battery of multiple rocket launchers and a radar station," the spokesman said.

Russian artillery troops struck 389 Ukrainian military sites overnight, including 15 missile/artillery arms and ammunition depots, Konashenkov said. "Throughout the night, artillery units struck 389 enemy facilities, including 35 command centers, 41 strongholds, 169 areas of amassed manpower and military equipment, 33 artillery positions and also 15 missile/artillery arms and ammunition depots," the spokesman said.

Russian air defense forces eliminated 18 Ukrainian drones, including three Byaraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and two Smerch rockets, Konashenkov said. "Russian air defense systems shot down 18 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, including three Bayraktar TB2 UAVs over the communities of Gorlovka, Chervony Oskol, Petmanovo, Kramatorsk, Kozinka, Karpovka, Putilino, Novoakhtyrka, Veliky Liman and Peremoga," the spokesman said.

The Russian air defense forces also shot down two rockets of Ukrainian Smerch multiple launch rocket systems over the settlements of Gorlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Snezhkovka in the Kharkov Region, the general said.
