Italy does not disclose list of weapons for Kiev for national security reasons — senator
Earlier, Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini said that Rome would continue to furnish military assistance to Kiev
ROME, April 29. /TASS/. The Italian authorities do not disclose the information about weapons being sent to Ukraine for national security reasons, the head of the special parliamentary committee on security, Senator from the Brothers of Italy party, Adolfo Urso, said on Friday.
"We believe it is better for our national security to refrain from disclosing concrete information what gear and weapons are being sent," he said on the Radio-1 station. "I do see and hear statements, but newspaper articles are one thing, and official documents, something very different."
Earlier, Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini said that his country would continue to furnish military assistance to Kiev. Local mass media speculated that a list of more powerful weapons, including self-propelled artillery pieces and air defense systems might be approved. Although the list of weapons Rome is sending is kept secret, some presume that it includes anti-tank weapons.
