Polish top brass warns citizens of mass military relocations in May due to drills
The authorities requested not to post photos and information on troop movements
WARSAW, April 28. /TASS/. Military hardware of the Polish armed forces will be intensively moving across the country in May as part of a military exercise, the Polish army said in a statement on its website on Thursday.
"From Sunday, May 1, military convoys will be moving along roads almost across the entire country due to military maneuvers that will be held under the program of drills of the Polish armed forces for this year," the statement reads.
Most of the military equipment will be moving at night but daytime relocations, including at rush hours, are also planned, it said.
"The participants in the drills will use the arrival and transit of convoys specifically to practice receiving and relocating allied forces, coordinating cross-border operations and cooperating with receiving countries," the Polish top brass said.
In view of the upcoming relocations of military hardware, the Polish army requested citizens not to post photos and information on troop movements and military aircraft take-offs and landings. "Each thoughtless action in the social media, the posting of photos showing major military sites, installations and military equipment may have negative implications for the security and defense system," the statement says.
