MOSCOW, April 14. /TASS/. About 100 buildings were damaged when the settlement of Klimovo, Russia’s Bryansk Region, was shelled. Two of them were destroyed by fire, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said on Thursday.
"A strike was made. <…>. An urban-type settlement, Klimovo district center, was hit with nine shells landing there. They knew where they were shooting, knew that they were firing on a residential neighborhood, residential buildings," Bogomaz told Rossiya-24 TV channel.
"Two houses burned down, and about 100 houses received damage of various degree," the governor said. He specified that the private sector had come under attack, where most of the buildings are one-story private houses. "There was no evacuation of people from that area," the governor added. He said that the people would receive help, also with repair work.
According to earlier reports, the Ukrainian army’s bombardment of the village of Klimovo, the Bryansk Region, on Thursday, injured eight people, including a pregnant woman. A woman retiree suffered a serious injury.
A two-year-old suffered a wound in the temple in the attack, Bogomaz said.
"The child who was injured as a result of a shelling of the Bryansk Region suffered a thorough wound in the temple. A fragment hit the right temple to get stuck in the right one. The child is one year and nine months old," Bogomaz said on the Rossiya-24 round-the-clock television news channel.
"A 70-year-old woman lost her leg. She has been operated on," Bogomaz said. A special team of medics, including children’s neurosurgeons, has been dispatched to Bryansk from the Russian Health Ministry’s Disaster Medicine Center," he added.
