Putin supports initiative to hand captured Western weapons over to Donbass republics

The Russian leader noted that if the move required any decisions to be made at the president’s level, he was ready to make them

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu’s initiative to hand Western-made weapons captured by Russian troops over to the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

"As for weapons, particularly Western-made weapons captured by Russian troops, I certainly support plans to hand them over to the forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics," the president said at a meeting with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council on Friday.

"Please, do it," the head of state said, addressing Shoigu. Putin added that if the move required any decisions to be made at the president’s level, he was ready to make them.
