Russian defense chief notes trend of global coalitions formation in the world

Sergey Shoigu also point outs that aggressive economic pressure can become a means of forcing to change the politics of sovereign states

MOSCOW, June 23. /TASS/. There is a trend of ‘insider’ and ‘outsider’ distinction in the world, Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoigu said at the Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday.

"Today, a new trend of global coalitions formation that has divided the world into ‘insider’ and ‘outsider’, is coming to the fore," he said.

Aggressive economic pressure on certain states is another global trend, the minister added. "Another typical recent trend is aggressive economic pressure as a means of forcing to change the politics of sovereign states. Economic and financial sanctions coupled with the power game, initiation of military incidents, and campaigns to misinform the population, are being widely used," he noted.

The ways of such influence are becoming universal and are used in any region of the world, Shoigu said. "Those problems are the most pressing in South-Eastern Asia. The countries of the region are being forced to make a choice, create structures similar to NATO," he emphasized.
