Terrorists aim for searching advocates in developed world economies, says FSB chief

They keep on trying to expand beyond trouble spots, Alexander Bortnikov pointed

MOSCOW, June 23. /TASS/. Terrorists and extremists aim for searching advocates in developed world economies, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov said in his opening remarks at the IX Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday.

"Terrorists and extremists keep on trying to expand beyond trouble spots, aim for boosting the base of potential advocates in developed world economies, successfully adjust to the global environment that largely changed last year," he said.

A system of fighting with terrorist manifestations has been established and efficiently functions in Russia, Bortnikov said.

"The pooled efforts of the state and society allows maintaining a sustainable trend of a declining number of terrorist crimes in Russia," he said, adding that the experts of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee regularly share their practical experience and terrorist threats projections with foreign partners at the platform of the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee.
