Russian Airborne Troops to receive new Klesch minelayer in 2021
It will significantly increase the efficiency of engineering mines against the enemy, according to the engineer service commander
MOSCOW, January 20. /TASS/. Russian Airborne Troops will receive the newest Klesch minelayer, built on the Taifun-VDV chassis, Airborne Troops engineer service commander Colonel Ilya Shatin told Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
"In 2021, Airborne Troops units should receive new universal Klesch minelayers, built on the Taifun-VDV vehicle. This will significantly increase the efficiency of engineering mines against the enemy," Shatin said.
According to the colonel, engineering systems capable of parachute descending are being developed at the moment.
"Currently, by the order of the Russian Armed Forces engineering corps commander Lieutenant General Yuri Stavitsky, research and development is underway in the interest of the Russian Airborne Troops to develop engineering means, capable of parachute descending," Shatin said.
