MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. Russian Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov has discussed the situation in Syria with his Turkish counterpart Yasar Guler over the phone, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

"Over the course of the talks, the parties discussed the situation in Syria, including that in the Idlib de-escalation zone, and exchanged opinions on ensuring stability in the region," the defense agency noted.
