Russian Severomorsk large anti-submarine ship docks at Cypriot port of Limassol
The ship set out on a long-distance voyage from the Northern Fleet’s main base of Severomorsk on July 5
MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. Project 1155 large anti-submarine ship Severomorsk of the Northern Fleet has been on a long-distance voyage for nine months and has docked in the port of Limassol in Cyprus, the Northern Fleet press service told reporters on Tuesday.
"The ship will be docked for a few days, and the docking plan includes replenishing the ship’s stores and some brief shore leave for the sailors, the press service said.
Severomorsk set out on a long-distance voyage from the Northern Fleet’s main base, Severomorsk, July 5. In the first stage of the solo mission, the ship sailed more than 30,000 nautical miles, visiting the ports of Algiers, Djibouti, Mozambique and Madagascar. Upon the completion of the first stage, the ship was restoring its technical capabilities at the Black Sea Fleet’s main base, Sevastopol. Since then, the ship has sailed another 6,000 miles.
The Severomorsk large anti-submarine ship’s full displacement is 7,570 tonnes and the length is 163.5 meters. The ship’s armaments include the URK-5 Rastrub-B missile launcher that can strike both submarines and ships, the 3K95 Kinzhal surface-to-air missile system and two 100 mm caliber gun mounts. Severomorsk also carries two Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters.
