Moscow Security Conference draws 35 defense chiefs from around the globe
The Conference is scheduled for April 23-25
MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. The defense ministers of 35 countries have confirmed their participation in the Eighth Moscow Security Conference scheduled to take place on April 23-25, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a conference call on Tuesday.
"We expect military delegations and leading experts from more than 100 countries to take part in the event. As many as 35 defense ministers have already confirmed their participation," he said.
According to the Russian defense minister, the conference agenda will include "efforts to ensure regional and global stability, including the consequences of the defeat of terrorists in Syria, political means to resolve the situation in the country, the humanitarian aspect of post-war reconstruction and the return of refugees."
"Missile defense issues, peacekeeping activities and new approaches to international defense cooperation are also planned to be discussed," Shoigu added.
He said that some of the forum’s events would for the first time take place in Patriot Park outside Moscow.
