Asia-Pacific countries make up 20% of Russia’s military hardware order book
This figure has been quite stable over the past several years, the deputy director of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation
LANGAWI /Malaysia/, March 26. /TASS/. Countries of the Asia-Pacific region account for about 20% of Russia’s military hardware order book, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Mikhail Petukhov told TASS at the LIMA 2019 arms show in Malaysia on Tuesday.
"Countries of the Asia-Pacific region make up a fifth of our book of orders for military products. This figure has been quite stable over the past several years. The share of Southeast Asian countries is somewhat more modest and makes up about 5%," Petukhov said.
Russia’s cooperation "with the region’s countries is developing consistently and quite stably," he added.
The 15th LIMA 2019 international aerospace and marine hardware exhibition runs on Langkawi Island on March 26-30. The arms show has been held since 1991 under the auspices of the Malaysian Defense Ministry and with the support of the country’s Transport Ministry and International Trade and Industry Ministry.
