The S-400 air defense systems have entered combat duty to protect the air borders of the country’s westernmost region

KALININGRAD, March 15. /TASS/. A new regimental set of the air defense system S-400 Triumf has entered combat duty in the Kaliningrad Region, the Baltic Fleet’s press-service told TASS on Friday.

"In the Kaliningrad region the crews of new generation air defense systems S-400 have entered combat duty to protect the air borders of the country’s westernmost region," the press-service said.

The Baltic Fleet received a batch of S-400s in the beginning of March. The systems arrived at their permanent location in the Kaliningrad Region from the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan Region after successful test launches.

The S-400 Triumf systems are meant for hitting all modern and yet-to-be developed means of attack from the air and outer space - reconnaissance planes, stealth aircraft, fighters, strategic bombers, cruise and ballistic missiles, drones and hypersonic vehicles.
