Three CSTO military exercises scheduled for 2020 in Armenia

They will be held in accordance with the alliance plan

ROSTOV-ON-DON, February 9. /TASS/. Three military exercises will take place in Armenia according to the schedule of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO, a military alliance of six post-Soviet republics), Spokesman for the Russian Southern Military District Vadim Astafyev told reporters on Saturday.

"Commander of the Southern Military District Colonel General Alexander Dvornikov discussed future joint exercises with Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia Davis Tonoyan. At a meeting at the Southern Military District’s headquarters, they discussed the issues related to holding three joint exercises in Armenia in accordance with the CSTO plan," Astafyev said.

Besides, both senior officers focused on the procedure of a joint military exercise involving service members of the Russian base in Armenia and Armenian forces.
