Valery Gerasimov described Trump’s statement on Washington’s plans to quit the Treaty as a dangerous move
MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Russia will not leave the United States’ withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) unanswered, Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov said at a briefing for foreign defense attaches.
"Considering that there are authorized representatives of foreign defense departments among the audience, I would like to convey to your chiefs that, if the INF Treaty collapses, we will not leave that unanswered," he stressed.
Gerasimov described US President Donald Trump’s statement on Washington’s plans to quit the INF Treaty as a dangerous move, which can "adversely affect not only European security, but also strategic stability in general.".
