Russia will help repair over 500 weapons systems of the Kyrgyz army

MOSCOW, August 13. /TASS/. Specialists of a separate logistics support brigade of Russia’s Central Military District will render assistance in repairing over 500 weapons systems of the Kyrgyz army, the district’s press office reported on Monday.

"Russian specialists will render assistance in the repair of over 500 pieces of armament and military hardware of the Kyrgyz Republic’s armed forces. Currently, Russian specialists have launched work at two deployed assembly areas of damaged vehicles to detect faults of armament and military hardware, following which they will render assistance in their recovery," the district’s press office said.

Since October 2003, Russia has been operating the Kant air base near Bishkek. It accommodates Russian Su-25 attack aircraft and Mi-8MTV helicopters. The military unit is structurally part of the Central Military District’s Air Force and Air Defense forces, and is also a component of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces involved in providing security on the territory and in the airspace of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
