About 40 combat aircraft to take part in Russian Navy’s Parade
The parade’s air component will involve deck-based fighter jets, attack aircraft and multirole helicopters
ST. PETERSBURG, July 16. /TASS/. About 40 warplanes and helicopters will take part in the air component of Russia’s Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg, the press office of the Western Military District said on Monday.
"As of today, 40 aircraft and helicopters are expected to fly in a parade formation. More aircraft will be involved in training exercises (some will stay in the reserve)," the press office said.
The Main Naval Parade’s air component will involve deck-based fighter jets, attack aircraft and multirole helicopters. Also, Tu-142 and Il-38 anti-submarine warfare planes are expected to take part in the parade. They have already flown into St. Petersburg from the Northern and Pacific Fleets.
"The parade formation will feature Su-25 attack aircraft, Tu-142 long-range anti-submarine warfare planes, Il-38N anti-submarine warfare aircraft, Su-24M frontline bombers, shipborne Su-33 fighter jets and MiG-29 fighters. The parade will also feature Ka-27 and Ka-29 helicopters," the press office told TASS.
