Baltic Fleet's large landing ships arrive in Kronstadt for Navy parade
The national Day of the Navy is celebrated July 29
MOSCOW, July 7. /TASS/. The Baltic Fleet’s large landing ships, the Ivan Gren and the Korolev, arrived to Kronstadt to take part in Russia’s main Navy Day parade, to take place on July 29, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press service said on Saturday.
"The Ivan Gren and the Korolev Large landing ships have completed journey from the city of Baltiysk and arrived to the port of Kronstadt to take part in the main military parade, due on July 29 in St.Petersburg and Kronstadt," the ministry said.
Earlier in the day, the Makarov frigate and the Soobrazitelny corvette also arrived to the city.
According to earlier reports, more than 40 warships, as well as 25 planes and helicopters are expected to take part in the parade.
The list includes the Marshal Ustinov missile cruiser, the Admiral Gorshkov frigate, the Severomorsk anti-submarine destroyer, the Ivan Gren amphibious assault ship, the Soobrazitelny corvette, the Admiral Mararov frigate and other vessels.
