Prominent Russian crooner marvels over his character in Marvel Comics
Nikolai Baskov told TASS he was flattered but this was\s not important for him
MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. Popular Russian crooner, People’s Artist of Russia Nikolai Baskov told TASS he did not know that he was a character in a comic book by Marvel Comics.
Earlier some media reported referred to social networks users that the comics book "The Avengers Prelude - Black Widow" (2012) contained the characters of Nikolai Baskov and Vera Brezhneva (a Ukrainian-Russian pop-singer). In the book the Baskov character is called "one of the world’s best tenors" and is praised for his performance at the Kremlin Palace.
"I am not a fan of comic books and I am not an expert in it. But I know that they are popular. I appreciate that they (Marvel - TASS) chose me (as a character - TASS), I am flattered but this is not important for me," Baskov told TASS.
The artist said that the day before he had performed a charity program at the Moscow Center for Palliative Care.
"I congratulated patients and their loved ones on the upcoming New Year. It was a very grateful audience, an incredibly warm atmosphere," the singer said, adding that the funds raised from the sale of his new album Christmas Songs will be transferred to the Vera hospice charity fund.
