Explosion hits China’s chemical plant, 200 workers evacuated

There have been no reports about victims of the explosion

BEIJING, June 30 (Itar-Tass) - An explosion ripped through a chemical plant in East China’s Jiangxi Province, the Xinhua news agency reported.

A methanol container caught fire at a production zone of China’s chemical company Kana.

Over 200 workers were evacuated.

Rescuers say there are another eight containers with different gases near the site of the explosion.

Thirteen fire-fighting vehicles are working on the site.

There have been no reports about victims of the explosion.

The situation has been taken under control. The incident is being investigated.
