ST. PETERSBURG, June 20 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s oil major LUKoil is not looking at participation in projects in Iraqi Kurdistan, LUKoil President Vagit Alekperov told Russia Today on Thursday in the sidelines of the Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“So far, we are not considering projects in Kurdistan,” he said when asked about prospects for the company’s presence in the region.

As of now, Gazprom Neft is the only Russian oil company present in Kurdistan. It participates in the Garmain, Shakal, and Halabja projects.
