Meteorite fragments fell some 80 kilometers away from the city of Sakta
MOSCOW, February 15 (Itar-Tass) – No meteorite fragments have been spotted in Russia’s Urals regions, a spokesman for the national crisis management centre of the Russian emergencies ministry told Itar-Tass on Friday.
According to earlier reports, meteorite fragments fell some 80 kilometers away from the city of Sakta. A source in the local police said that one fragment was found in a hard-to-reach area. Later reports said that the military were searching for meteorite fragments near the city of Kopeisk.
“As of 12:00 Moscow time, nothing was found,” the spokesman said.
