Four killed in traffic accident in Kursk region
Rescuers had to use special equipment to retrieve the dead bodies from the car
KURSK, November 18 (Itar-Tass) — Four persons were killed in a road accident in Russia’s Kursk region, a spokesman for the regional emergencies department told Itar-Tass late on Sunday.
The accident took place near the settlement of Volnaya Zarya on the motor way linking Kursk and the town of Borisoglebsk. The accident was reported by an eyewitness who called the rescue service at 17:10 Moscow time. Rescuers, traffic police officers and medics were immediately sent to the scene where a Nissan car collided with a Kamaz heavy duty truck. Four people, Nissan’s driver and passengers, were died instantly, their identities are being established.
Rescuers had to use special equipment to retrieve the dead bodies from the car.
An investigation is underway.
