MOSCOW, October 18 (Itar-Tass) Russian researchers are working on a new anti-drug preparation erasing receptor memory traces of the use of narcotic substances, Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova told journalists on Thursday.
According to Skvortsova, the preparation is currently being tested on animals. If these tests are successful, “we will have a means to erase human receptor memory,” he said and added that it would help treat drug addicts.
According to Viktor Ivanov, the chief of Russia’s anti-drug authority, “drug” memory stays for about a year, so it is not enough only to ease withdrawal pains to do away with drug addiction.
