Over 180,000 workers received backdated wages owing federal service’s efforts

MOSCOW, August 24 (Itar-Tass) —— Owing to requests of the local subdivisions of the Russian Federal Labour and Employment Service, more than 180,000 workers in the country have received backdated wages, a service official said on Friday.
According to the service, the workers received 2,449.5 million roubles (USD 1 = RUB 31.81) of backdated money.
In the official’s words, the Federal Labour and Employment Service organised about 30 inspections in Russian regions in January-July, as a result of which more than 14,000 employers and over 4,000 legal bodies were brought to administrative responsibility for the violation of the law on remuneration.
