Child dies, three injured in Baikal region car crash
The children were rushed to hospital
ULAN-UDE, August 2 (Itar-Tass) — A child was killed and another three children and five adults were injured in a car crash in the Baikal region on Thursday, an local emergency situations department official told Itar-Tass.
"A Nissan Note overturned four kilometers from the village of Ureiskoye, Akshinsky district; there were nine persons in it: five adults and four children," he said.
One child died, and another eight persons were injured. The children were rushed to hospital. A team from the local fire-fighting department and a group of Akshinsky district detectives are at the scene.
On Wednesday, two girls were injured in Buryatia on their way home from a summer recreation center. The bus carrying them had faulty brakes, according to road police. In the Irkutsk region, three boarding school pupils in a mini-bus were injured in a road accident. Police said the driver was drunk.
