Military court finds former chief military doctor guilty of bribery

During the hearings of arguments the public prosecutor demanded sentence Belevitin to 12 years in a tough security penitentiary

MOSCOW, July 25 (Itar-Tass) —— The Moscow Military Court found the former chief of the main military and medical department of the Russian Defence Ministry Alexander Belevitin guilty of taking a major bribe in the purchase of tomography scanners, Judge Andrei Zubov said in a verdict on Wednesday.

During the hearings of arguments the public prosecutor demanded sentence Belevitin to 12 years in a tough security penitentiary with a fine of one million roubles and strip him of the military rank of major-general.
