Police detain about ten people downtown Moscow

All the detainees were opposition activists who had gathered to hold an unsanctioned rally in support of the Pussy Riot

MOSCOW, July 20 (Itar-Tass) — Police have detained about ten people near the Novokuznetskaya metro station in Moscow for various offences and taken them to a police station, the press service of the Moscow department of the Russian Interior Ministry told journalists on Friday.

In turn, a law enforcement source said that all the detainees were opposition activists who had gathered to hold an unsanctioned rally in support of the Pussy Riot female punk group.
