Wildfires in Yakutia occupy over three thousand hectares

The wildfires were caused mostly by thunderstorms with strong wind.

GORNO-ALTAISK, July 13 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s Republic of Yakutia registers 16 wildfires, which occupy 3,643 hectares, where two wildfires of 100 hectares have been localised.

The wildfires were caused mostly by thunderstorms with strong wind. 485 firefighters, 38 special vehicles and eight aircrafts are extinguishing the fires.

Since the beginning of the fire season, the republic has registered 234 wildfires occupying about 32,000 hectares, including 25,000 hectares of forests.
